When we calculate the approximate cost of your ingredients, we use recent price data from the UK’s biggest supermarkets. We include the cost of all the fresh, perishable ingredients you’ll need (meat, vegetables, etc.), because our menus use them in their entirety without any waste. We include the cost of just the amount of any non-perishable ingredients you’ll need – i.e. if a menu needs 125g of pasta shapes we use quarter of the price of a 500g pack of pasta.
We include an allowance in every recipe or menu for the cost of the small amounts of store cupboard ingredients they need (like oil, herbs and seasoning).
Our costs are a reliable guide, but you may find your actual supermarket spend is slightly different week to week. This is because, for instance, if a menu requires pasta, but you don’t have any in the cupboard at the moment, your shop will cost a bit more than our total, but if you already have pasta in the cupboard your shop will cost a bit less.
The
only includes the cost of the ingredients needed to
cook the meals you’ve selected – not the cost of any reminders or
extras you add.
